What building in public taught me
Shipaton is over, and Camaïeu did not win a prize. I'm a little disappointed, but that was never really why I entered: I wanted to make myself build where people could see, which is something I usually avoid.
Here is what I learned. A public schedule keeps you shipping: Monday questions, Wednesday clips, Friday notes, and two months later the app was on the App Store. A few replies are enough: the icon, the onboarding and the free tier were all decided with someone else's help. And using the app every day finds what testing misses: the three-mode rework came from that.
This devlog ends here and stays as the story of how Camaïeu was made. The app keeps going.
Camaïeu was built for RevenueCat's Shipaton 2026. #Shipaton #BuildInPublic
